Typically, we use ¾ plywood. Its just a shade more expensive that ½” or ⅝", but the incremental difference in strength is amazing. Our projects tend to be overkill in terms of strength, glue, screws, accuracy, safety and reliability for many years to come. Lately, we have built some shelving units for home garages, and recently outfitted a wonderful local Whitby Florist at: www.bitafloral.ca
The edging of plywood is not a nice finishing touch, so we pre-paint with ½” to ¾” strips of either pine or poplar to give it a nicer effect.
My Lathe Station in my shop:
This garage has a unique 12’ ceiling. Great storage solution! Earth Wind & Fire won’t bring this unit down!
This was a cool build for a local florist. Utilizing every inch of wall space using 10’ by 4’ ¾” plywood. Please visit: https://www.bitafloral.ca
